At the heart of the Para 2 is Moondrop’s patented Full Drive Technology. Unlike traditional planar headphones, which only partially drive the diaphragm, FDT applies a uniform magnetic field and drive circuit across the entire 100mm surface. This eliminates split vibrations, sharpens treble detail, and brings the performance closer to what you’d expect from electrostatic headphones.

A diaphragm that's heard, not seen

The Para 2’s diaphragm is just 1.2μm (0.0012mm) thick. That’s thinner than a strand of spider silk. Combined with a pure silver etched circuit and Tension Balancing Technology (TBT), it responds instantly, handles dynamic swings cleanly, and reproduces microdetail with impressive accuracy.

An array of 36 N52 neodymium strip magnets blankets the diaphragm in a consistent magnetic field. This optimized field ensures the entire surface is driven evenly, which reduces distortion and improves clarity. It also enables the headphone to maintain low impedance (9Ω ±15%) and high sensitivity (106dB/Vrms), so it sounds great even with modest amplification.

The Para 2’s integrated driver cavity combines stainless steel, industrial-grade plastic, and brushed finishes in a compact, lightweight frame. It retains the structural integrity to handle the powerful magnetic system while being easy to wear for long listening sessions.

Moondrop’s VDSF tuning provides a natural, open soundstage with smooth wide-band response. Treble extends gracefully, bass remains controlled and deep, and distortion stays under 0.03% at 1kHz, keeping your music clean even at higher volumes. 

cables and earpads that just work

The Para 2 uses dual 3.5mm connectors with a slight angle for easy swapping. Included is a 4.4mm balanced cable made of 6N purity single crystal copper in a quad-core configuration, designed to reduce interference and preserve signal quality. The sheepskin earpads are soft, resistant to wear, and attach magnetically for quick changes.
